Maximize the educational impact of your field trip experience by taking advantage of the free resources developed by the Center for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure Aquarium. Use these essential tools to engage your students before, during and after their visit.
STUDENT SCAVENGER HUNT
Our self-guided Scavenger Hunt is geared towards students in grades 9 - 12. The topic, Aquarium Careers, highlights some of the jobs at the aquarium that involve working with animals. It is designed to slow students down so they can experience exhibits and animals more thoroughly, offering questions that encourage creative thinking and careful observation to answer.
Do you know a student interested in a career in marine biology?
Our High School Shadow program gives individual students in grades 9 – 12 an opportunity to meet up with Aquarium staff and get a behind the scenes look at a day in the life of a marine biologist. This program is offered on selected Tuesdays – Thursdays, from 1pm – 4pm, September – January. For more information go to: http://www.aquaticsciences.org/education/Shadow.html
Our Exhibit Resources are designed to take you and your students to a deeper level while exploring our most popular exhibits. Each guide includes background information, activities and additional sources for further investigation and discovery.
ANIMAL FACT SHEETS
Is a dolphin a mammal or fish? What’s the difference between an alligator and crocodile? Why do sharks have so many teeth? Find the answers to these questions and more in our collection of Animal Fact Sheets. Each is full of information that can be used before or after your field trip to help your students understand more about the animals that are found at Adventure Aquarium.
